So after 30 days of good, bad and just plain fugly hair today we chopped off all our hair to raise money for the Phyllis Tuckwell an amazing hospice that helped our friend Lianne.
Big thanks to Ros Milton for doing this with me. She is and continues to be one of the most awesome people I know.
I had not expected to feel as emotional as I did this morning. I mean we weren’t shaving our heads. And in the end it’s just hair, it will grow back.
But all week I’d dreamt of Lianne, that we were sat in her old house just chatting about everything and nothing. On Monday it would have been her 32 birthday so doing something like to this to remember her felt like a fitting tribute.
Hair inspiration
We found this ridiculous app on the internet that allowed you to try on different hairstyles and after identifying some hair don’ts, like this Pat Butcher lookalike:
And my lady of the night look
Ros decided she wanted to work the 80’s power bitch bob.
While I was taking my inspiration from Louise Brooks and Daisy Buchanan and opted for a assymetrical bob.
Before
Ros not long for this world hair.
B-Bye long hair.
We had our hair cut by the lovely Serena at Headmasters and we thoroughly recommend her. She was ace.
During
Within a couple of minutes Ros’ hair had been measured, plaited and chopped off
Ten inches of plaited hair in total.
That’s over half her hair gone. To be honest Ros looked pretty hot even with it unevenly chopped off. However as I’m a big tease, you will have to wait a little longer to see her finished look.
.
Then it was my turn
Sayonnara 12 inches of unwanted hair
With the hair paparazzi including my Mummy, who came in just in time to see my hair go.
I quite liked my plait, I wanted to keep it. Which sort of negates the whole point of donating it to charity.
Can I just point out that my plait is longer and thinner than Ros’s #plaitenvy #takethatFreud.
I had my hair coloured as well and wanted to go ginger much to my mothers horror. ‘Darling, nobody chooses to be ginger!’ She said, like it was the equivalent of leprosy. However, I think she quite liked my new colour.
After
Right, drumroll please, introducing the new Mrs Milton (See Ros, I get it right even if the Hilton don’t)
WERQING it like the rent is due tommorrow
Ros’ verdict:
I love it. I look like I’m a member of Loose Women
Yep in Ros’ world this is a good thing 🙂 I think she looks gorge.
Ready to see mine?
And the new colour contrasting with the old.
It’s quite short at the back. Eeek! I may need to invest in some scarves and hats.
Row’s verdict: I don’t look like me, result!
And here’s us together at the end:

What do you guys think? Is it paper bag time or can we be seen in public?
